I have the Homepage set up to show my latest posts, but it initially only shows 2. I need to scroll to see more.

    1. How can I set the number of initially shown items?
    2. Can I switch Scroll-load off and show n-number of items?

There is already enough space for more items, not just 2 in one row. Visitor get the impression, there are very few posts, the do not know, that they need to scroll.

    Many thanks!

    Hi @shonu,

You can change the number of posts shown per page on the Settings → Reading page in the WordPress admin. It should default to 10, though.

You can change the maximum number of posts displayed per row in Chaplin in Appearance → Customize → Theme Options → Post Archive. If your site is currently set to load more posts on scroll, you can change that here as well, by changing the “Pagination Type” option to “Load more on button click” or “Previous and next page links”.

    Hi

this does not address my issue. I am aware of the settings. My issue is, that when the Archive is visited, I only see 2 items despite having sufficient space for more. Only on scroll I see the loading more.

I have set 10 items per page, but Scroll-load does not load them initially, but only when scrolling, UP to the 10 items (I presume, as I have less than 10 posts)

Pagination is the same, apart form the fact that I was not wanting pagination. If I enable it, I see only 1 item (???) and click to the next one by one..

    My goal:
    1. Enable Load by scrolling
    2. Fill the view with at least 2 rows, two columns = 4 items, otherwise visitor thinks there is not much content!
I want to ensure that MINIMUM amount of items is assured to be loaded. If this cannot be fixed for whatever reason (how can I send you the weblink without publishing it here?), how about a “Minimum items initially loaded” option?

    Thanks

    Hi @shonu,

I’m sorry, I don’t undertand your issue from your description, and the forum guidelines doesn’t allow me to ask you to send me the web adress directly.

You can enable load by scrolling by going to Appearance → Customize → Theme Options → Post Archive, and setting “Pagination Type” to “Load more on scroll”. You can set the number of posts per page to 8 by going to Settings → Reading and changing “Blog pages show at most” to 8. This should load eight posts to start with, and append more posts to the bottom of the page when you’ve scrolled to the bottom (provided you have eight posts on your site).

    Hi
“Blog pages show at most” – it had not save the 10 long time ago. Also I was thinking that it was the default. Now it works when setting to 6. If I set it to 4 and refresh the page, I get 1. When I hit the Logo and the page reloads, I see 3.
It runs stable with 6 being set.
Well, not sure why it behaves weirdly with different numbers, but it works now, thanks
