Load only 2 posts – images

  • If I specify that I only want to display the 2 newest posts, are these the only two that will actually get loaded? Or will a lot of other posts and their images get loaded in the background but not displayed? Asking this since this plugin adds 1-2 seconds of load time and 2-3 mb to the page load because of all the uncompressed images on the facebook group.

    And on that note, is there any way to compress the images before they get loaded?

    Hey Skalders!

    If you are limiting the number of posts via the Options, then we pass that limit in our request to Facebook (so we are only loading the two latest items instead of their entire feed and then throwing away the extra.) That should help with your load time.

    There is not currently a way to compress the images before they get loaded – we are stuck using the images as available via the FB CDN. You do have the option to use thumbnails instead of the fullsized images, and thumbnails are compressed (however, they may be too small for your purposes.)
