• when i attempt to insert my [custom synced patterns] into a post via [ / ], very often only the built-in synced patterns show up in the list. i have created many custom synced patterns and i sometimes have to wait up to a minute before they show up. sometimes i have to update the post first and re-enter ‘edit mode’ before they show up. this happens often even when the website is otherwise functioning properly. other times, the custom synced patterns show up instantly. if i am editing several wordpress posts in different tabs, the custom synced patterns will often load in one ‘post editor’ but not the other.

i’m wondering whether editing several wordpress posts at once may be causing the issue. any advice appreciated. ??TIY??

@sacdawg — please refrain from using ALL CAPS in these forums. It’s considered to be rude and makes text more difficult to read. You’ve apparently not done this before, so I’ll assume it was just a simple oversight on your part. As long as you refrain from doing so in the future all will be well.

The problems you describe are usually attributed to poor server performance. Custom patterns are managed differently than built-in and fetching them consumes greater server resource. Variable performance just indicates the server has varying demands placed upon it. If you use shared hosting, the additional load may have nothing to do with your site even though it’s impacted along with the other sites the server shares.

If this problem continues to be bothersome I recommend contacting your host to see what options might be available for improving server performance. Sometimes moving your site to a different web server will resolve the issue. Some hosts might be willing to do this for no additional charge.

thanx…i suspected that was the case as many others have been dissatisfied with bluehost. i’m planning on switching to a new host because even the premium version of bluehost seems to be problematic for many users.

apologize for the caps….i’ve just gotten into the habit of formatting my blog posts in all caps with a hyphen at beginning/end of title. going forward, i’ll use all lowercase. does not capitalizing the first letter of the title make it less readable? for me, bracketing the elements in the title makes it more readable

    would this formatting be acceptable?

Acceptable, but I disagree that the added brackets and hyphens are helpful. Simple title case is common practice and preferred. My only objection is all caps. Do as you wish on your own blog, not here ??
