    Hey guys,

Just noticed that when I’m on a single product page where products are loaded as a carousel if I have ‘fade-in’ selected as the effect then the carousel images other than the first image won’t load. I have found this to only be an issue with Safari, chrome and firefox work properly. If I select the ‘spinner’ effect the problem is fixed.

Any way to fix this as the fade in effect is much nicer.

    My safari version – Version 12.0 (14606.1.36.1.9)

    Thanks

Ok the first thing to do is clear your safari browser cache – or try it on another machine in a safari browser that you have not viewed a product page in for some time.

I looked at the link you posted – that pageloadsvery slowly – with 7.8MB of images – but I do not see lazy load.

The second thing I note is that you are using either the plugin or theme for your product image gallery and something else for the cards – maybe that is the Carousel that you mean. All the images are loading in the first pageload and this is dramatically slowing the load.

I also see the product image gallery have trouble getting its position – it loads align left and after a short delay it jumps to the centre of the image container- which is not desirable from a user experience point of view.

Anyway back on topic – try the clear your safari browser and see if that resolves the issue for you.

    Hey Steve,

    Thanks for the reply!

I tried emptying the cache before on my main computer but it didn’t change anything.
It is a retina display macbook though and may have an issue with loading a larger retina image instead of the standard.

I viewed the same website page on my older imac non retina and the images loaded correctly.

Good points about image gallery. The carousel we had implemented by a web designer which may be the reason why the lazy load isn’t working. Agree on the images loading aligned left and the delay. If there was a quick fix to that I’d be greatly appreciative.

What I might do is create a backup and remove the custom carousel code and see how it loads in the our themes original image gallery.

No sorry I don’t have a fix for the image position issue – could be any number of things causing that and would require digging into the code or contacting the gallery developer.

If you are removing it you could also try our WooCommerce Dynamic Gallery Free version – just search that in the wordpress plugins. But it may have same issue as it looks like some code from the theme could be causing that – If you do install our Dynamic Product gallery and you are still seeing that you definately should contact the theme developer.

I will mark your issue as rsolved now as we seem to have dealt with the lazyload issue.

    Regards
    Steve
