I just added your plugin to a site i built 5linx.com. Everything works fine but I was curious if the loading of the images was suppose to take so long unless you scroll. If I leave the mouse or mobile device screen still after an image comes in to the view port for some of my scrolling galleries it takes a significant amount of time to load unless I scroll a bit and then it instantly loads. You can see this on the site in question on the homepage where the products and blog posts scroll horizontally. Also on the tab buttons that have images that load. Is there an easy fix for this or is this just conflict on this paticular site?

    re this

Thanks for the site url so we could look at it. The Lazy Load script supports Vertical and horizontal scroll but the script that makes the horizontal scroll needs to be made compatible – the dev of that script can easily add that if you send them the instructions on how to do that – here is the link

    https://github.com/ressio/lazy-load-xt#horizontal-scroll

If the dev adds that then your images on horizontal scroll will load perfectly.

    Hi @justin.acrara, @Homain, @japenz

Just released version 1.3.0 which is a * Feature upgrade

The new feature is ‘Image Load Threshold’ – this feature allows you to set a threshold in pixels. This threshold is in addition to the View Port.

That means that when the images comes within the threshold that you have set it starts to load instead of only starting to load when it reaches the View Port (browser screen)

This new feature will overcome the ‘Loading of images takes too long unless scrolling’ issue.

The Default setting is 0px. After upgrading to version 1.3.0 go to the a3 lazy load admin dashboard – scroll to the bottom and you will see the ‘Image Load Threshold’ setting. A good pixel to start testing at at would be 200px. Please note this only applies to images loaded in vertical scroll.

I will change the status of this topic now to [ Resolved ]

    Thanks – Steve

    Hello, Steve,

I installed your plugin 3/4 days ago. Plugin seems worked very well but from yesterday I have the same problem: the images not show immediatily. appear after few second that load entire page or doesen’t appear. I read may be the problem is Cloud Flare, well. I purge all cache in my cloud flare (and website) but the issue are yet them. In most browser. Chrome, Firefox e Ie…
I set also on 200px ‘Image Load Threshold’ but nothing. Any idea Please?
    Thankyou

    Hello @eddycom

Thanks for the link and the screenshot – I have checked the site load in pingdom.com here is my test and see lazy load is working fine on your site

    See the waterfall.

Also in my browser the same – work perfect. I think you just cannot see it because you have the loading effect Fade In option switched ON – and the background image is the same colour as your site background

Try changing the Fade In to Spinner https://gyazo.com/77fb869ce6605d8e08cec96becab6247

and maybe the change the Loading Background colour to something different to your theme background for testing.

The other way to test it is using the pingdom tool to test your site load with and without a3 lazy Load switched on. Go to the Lazy Load Activation Setting Box – switch Lazy Load OFF – scroll to the bottom and save changes.

Then clear your cloudflare cache and use pingdom to test the page load – make sure it is from the same location so you can compare apples with apples. My test with lazy Load activated was from Amsterdam – see screenshot https://gyazo.com/678f4dc45cc1f5c7ac5616f3fdd76d9b – click the settings tab to see the Test from location.

What I do see from the pingdom test is that your home page (landing page) is massive – a total of 3.3MB – will be interesting to see what that blows out to with Lazy Load switched OFF.

Please let me know how all of that works for you – Steve
