• Dear Ditty team,
sadly your news ticker isn’t GDPR compatible as it inserts Google Fonts without any option to deactivate it, also OMGF (Pro) can’t catch them.
I think that never was a problem in the past. :-/
Is there any chance for an optional Google Font loading? Why does your plugin even load them instead of using themes font settings?
    Regards,
    Ann

Hi Ann, thanks for contacting me. The Google fonts should only load if you’ve selected to use a Google font in the Display for your Ditty.

Edit your Ditty and click on the Display tab. Then, select the Style sub-tab and make sure your Item Typography > Font Family does not have a Google font selected.

If for some reason this doesn’t seem to be the case on your site let me know. There may be something else going on.

    Hi,
a Google font WAS selected, then changed like you’ve described and of course saved, but the Google fonts still were loaded. (All caches and so on were cleared and then disabled before.)

But even if someone would use a Google font, they’re not integrated in a way that could be catched by plugins like OMGF to load them locally instead. :-/

I just would like to second this comment, noticed it in my chained requests and saw that my setup which loads Google Fonts locally was ignored.

I see you havent responded to OP in 8 days. Sorry to say, but if it isn’t worth ironing this out with an update, then it probably isn’t worth us keeping Ditty and being non-compliant (as well as performance optimisations being ignored).

Thanks for reminding me of this. It’s been a busy past week or so and this was lost in the shuffle. I’ll find some time over the next few weeks to look into this and configure a new system for loading Google fonts.

I just released an updated (v3.1.53) that adds a setting to disable Google Font loading completely (by Ditty) to the Ditty > Settings page. You may still have to clear your site’s cache to ensure the new scripts load correctly on the front-end. Also, if you use any sort of plugin that strips version numbers from external scripts the new js files still may not load until your browser cache clears.

Let me know if you have any questions.
