Loads of new Russian-based Subscribers

Over the past week, my site has been plagued with many new subscribers with Russian email addresses. They remain “unconfirmed” and obviously are easy to delete, but I would like to prevent this.
I had assumed that they were being created by the Email Subscriber widget on my front page, but I removed that yesterday and I still have new subscribers this morning, so how are those being created please?
I’m running WP 4.9.4 and your plugin 3.4.8

We have released an update 3.4.10 to the spam protection fix.
Kindly update the same from the following link.
Also requesting the users using Group Selector to update Group selector plugin to its latest version(1.4.3).Do let me know your views on the same.
