Local backups failing continually
-
Hi – I was backing up successfully to my external HD for several months, now I try to back up so I can install the newest version of WordPress, I get this message:
The activity failed to initialise: Unable to write to the local backup directory.
In the error log I get:
The directory (/var/www/vhosts/billyinthelowground.co.uk/httpdocs/wp-content/backups) where local backups will be stored cannot be written to.
You may need to login via FTP and “CHMOD” it to “0770” or, as a last resort, “0777”. You should also check the temporary processing directory (/var/www/vhosts/billyinthelowground.co.uk/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wponlinebackup/tmp) has the same permissions, also creating the folder if necessary.
Error: Permission deniedNone of this means anything to me, I’m afraid, and I’m not very technically minded… can anyone help me with this one?
I tried doing an online backup instead, but that also fails. My diagnostic info is as follows:
