In my source I see <meta property=”og:locale” content=”en_US” /> but my site is Dutch language, although I use the English WP backend.
I suppose that would be negative for Google indexing?
I would expect to see locale nl_NL in my case, no?
Is the locale based on the WP language setting or is it another setting somwhere?

    Hi @drscoot,

That’s exactly why it’s happening: Your backend is en_US.

I believe that version 4.7 of WordPress allows you to set your back-end to en_US (through your profile settings) and the site to nl_NL/nl_BE (through your general site settings).
Also be sure to set your timezone to Amsterdam right there ?? The SEO Framework (among WordPress) makes good use of that.

The og:locale output is not harmful for Google indexing, as no signals have been indicated that they listen to it.
However, do check out the <html> opening tag, that should state the wrong language as well – of which The SEO Framework currently has no control (it should be handled by the theme for unknown early WordPress reasons). Google does clearly listen to that tag.

    Best of luck ?? Cheers!

Yes I thought that was the reason.
Yes you’re right WP 4.7 has now an extra language setting in the User profile (finally) which can override the general language setting.
And indeed I have now nl_NL in the source code, great! (With general set at Dutch and user at English)
Solved then, thanks for support and extra tips.
