Hello guys, is it possible to localize the “Call for price” into the site language? Or do I need to buy the pro version?

  • Hi @johndos

Yes, it is possible to localize our plugin into your site language.

This requirement can be achieved using the .pot file which we provide in our plugin folder, you will need to generate the required .po, .mo file from the .pot file.

    Please follow the below steps:

    1) Download the woocommerce-call-for-price.pot file, translate the strings in some translator(example poedit tool).
    2) Save the file with the required language code suffix(for example: fr_FR.po) which in turn will generate the .mo file(fr_FR). After saving, the .po and .mo files are ready to use.
    3) Upload the files in the langs folder of woocommerce-call-for-price plugin and in wp-content/languages folder

Please let me know if you face any issues with the same.

Thanks mate, I do know how to do it I just wasn’t sure if it is possible. Cause it would be weird to have “Call for Price” instead of the same in Greek.

    Hi @johndos,

    You are welcome. ??

Yes, it would be weird to have a string in English instead of the site language. The mentioned string is present in the .pot file which you can translate and let me know if you face any issues with it.

Hey mate, sorry for the delayed answer I turned off prices for a while, so I have tried to add the po and mo files as el, el-GR and el_GR but doesn’t work. Also as I am using caching ofc and cloudflare I want to say that I have cloudflare on dev mode and cleared cache every time I uploaded a .po and .mo file.

    Hi @johndos,

Yes, you will need to add the locale code for Greek as el as a suffix to the file name. For example: woocommerce-call-for-price-el.po

Can you please let me know whether you have saved the new .po, .mo files as I have explained in above example?

Also, let me know whether you have placed these saved translated files in Upload the files in the langs folder of woocommerce-call-for-price plugin and in wp-content/languages folders?

Also, you can use free plugins as well to translate the plugin/theme strings and in order to avoid all this steps. For example: Loco translate.

Yes, the changes in the files will not be reflected when cache plugins are used on the site. Everytime the developer or store owner needs to clear the cache in order to reflect the changes on the site.

    Hi.
@johndos, you can also upload your translation to https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp-plugins/woocommerce-call-for-price/stable/el/default/.
See how to guide at https://make.www.ads-software.com/polyglots/handbook/tools/glotpress-translate-wordpress-org/#importing-external-files
After the approval, your translations will be available for all the Greeks who use the plugin.

alright thanks mate, I did it altering the class-wc-call-for-price.php

    Hi @johndos,

    You are welcome.

Changing the main file accordingly is not the correct solution. Please note, you will need to redo the changes every time when the update of the plugin is released.
