    Hi,
thank you for this great plugin, in my first tests it worked and I like it!
I’m currently in the process of translating to german.
Other plugins I can translate by appending “-de_DE_formal” to the .mo and .po files, like:
    “yith-woocommerce-wishlist-de_DE_formal.po”
and putting those files into the plugins language folder either in the plugin directory or in the child themes directory.

But I had no luck with your plugin. Could you please check if localization works for you?
    Thank you!

    Hi,

I’m happy that plugin helped you.

I already have noted that there are issues with the localisation of plugin and I am addressing those issues in version 2.0.0 of the plugin.

Version 2.0.0 is complete rewrite of the plugin in React-Redux (JavaScript) and also will handle all major issues.

I request you to kindly wait for version 2.0.0, which is expected to be released mid of next month.

    Regards,
    Ankit G.

    Hi Ankit,
this are great news! I’m ready to wait for version 2.0.0 and, if you want, I could share the german translation with you once it’s ready.

Definitely, it is always good to have plugin translated in as many languages possible!

I will add you to contributors list of the plugin; if you can translate it to German. ??

I am willing to help translate to Swedish and Dutch, but I had no luck in using Loco Translate…..

    Hi @glorisol
Translation of this plugin happens at https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp-plugins/woo-save-and-share-cart/
Any logged-in user may suggest strings, but the translations will need to be approved by a translation editor. Since all translation activities are based on volunteer work, your best chances of seeing your translations approved would be to cooperate with the relevant language teams and be appointed as translation editor yourself.
Once “Development” reaches at least 90% for a locale, a language pack will be generated.

More details about Swedish translations (style guide, information about how we communicate, etc.) are given in https://wpsv.se/engagera-dig/stilguide-for-oversattningar/

We use the chat platform Slack for internal communication.
Start by joining the global Slack team for WordPress contributors: https://make.www.ads-software.com/chat/ (Global discussions on translation matters happen in channel “polyglots”)
Next, join the Dutch Slack team (using the special forwarding address you just got) via https://wpnl.slack.com/signup
You can invite yourself to the Swedish Slack team via https://wpsv.se/wpsv-slack/.

Finally, I’ll be bold and tag @jeroenrotty in case he has anything to add from a Dutch point of view.

@tobifjellner Thanks for the answer. I was completely unaware of this.

Noticed Swedish (most important for me) is well underway. Made 2 suggestions.

Summa instead of Totalt pris. ‘Totalt pris’ is a 1:1 translation of the english original “Total price’ which in itself in incorrect language. The actual figure is a ‘Total amount’, which would translate to ‘Summa” in Swedish.

Totalt M?ngd instead of Totalt Antal/ ‘Antal’ factually limits yourself to countable units. ‘M?ngd’ leaves room for uncountable / bulk quantities. Besides ‘M?ngd’ is an equal generic term as ‘Quantity’. The English word for ‘Antal’ would be ‘Number’.

Just my 2 cents. I hope the suggestions get approved, otherwise I will have to maintain my own translations for this plugin ??

As I do not have structural time to do this, I will not join the formal translation team.

@glorisol Thanks for your feedback and suggestions, which I approved. I only made a quick translation without testing the plugin and its translation.
(And for next time, we should have had this conversation in a different thread, rather than hi-jacking somebody else’s topic.)

@wpgurudev Could you please feed back to the developer that they probably need to carefully check where is should be “cart” (singular) vs. “carts” (plural).

    @tobifjellner @wpgurudev
The link to the underway translation of the plugin is worthwhile for the TS as well I think.
What is the best way to suggest different wording in the plugin strings (see my motivation to use ‘Amount’ instead of “Total price’)?

Indeed, thank you all for joining the discussion ??
I’ll wait for version 2.0 and then see what I can do. I’m new to WordPress so the additional information in this thread is welcomed!

@wpgurudev Do you have any github project or similar where interested users could suggest improvements? If yes, a link in the readme would be great!
