• Hi, I have Google’s Global Site Tag installed on the webpage. I would like to remove it (and install Google tag manager instead).

Cannot find how to uninstall it. Cannot find any plugin that has been used to install it (maybee it has been removed after installation?) and also cannot find it in the header or footer files in the theme file editor.

The website is, I wordpress 6.3.1 Total Child Theme.

I have the following plugins on my site at the moment:

    • All-in-One WP Migration
    • Carousel Anything for VC
    • Contact Form 7
    • CookieYes | GDPR Cookie Consent
    • Duplicate Page
    • Elegant Elements for WPBakery Page Builder
    • Header Footer Code Manager (I am using this to install Meta Pixels, but not the Global Site Tag)
    • PixelYourSite (Turned off the enable google analytics toggle in this plugin)
    • Spectra
    • Templatera
    • Total Theme Core
    • UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore
    • WordPress Importer
    • WP Rocket
    • WPBakery Page Builder
    • Yoast SEO

    Can you help?

  • Hello,

I would look at the Total child theme code first to see if it’s been added there, then I would look at the Total theme options – there could be a setting(s) that relate to Google Analytics.

Afterwards, I would look at all the settings of WPBakery Page Builder and all its related addons, like Templatera, just in case it was added in one of those.

If still nothing comes up, then I would check the remaining plugins, starting with PixelYourSite (by re-enabling the Google Analytics toggle) and Spectra.

If none of the above helped, then please try getting support from the Total theme developer via https://total.wpexplorer.com/docs/how-to-request-support/ and, if necessary, from WPBakery via https://support.wpbakery.com/

    Good luck!

    Hey,

If you still haven’t been able to locate the tag and for anyone else that may be reading this thread, make sure to also check under Theme Panel > Custom Actions in case it was added to a theme action hook.
