  • Is this a multisite install? Or just a single site?

This is just for a single site. https://website/?

Single WordPress installs do not have superadmins. Only admins. And anyone with editor privileges, or above, can modify any page.

The wordpress website was setup and as a regular admin I do not have access to a page called index or home – I cannot find the page or post called index or home.

Do you know where exactly on in the wp-admin area the page would be located.

I am new to word press and the person that set up the site for my friend setup with the gui interface and has done everything with plugins and not edited the pages like a the html editor I am.

I cannot find the page or post called index or home.

If your home page is a list of your recent posts, it is not a static Page but a listing generated – on demand – by WordPress using your theme’s index.php template file. Unless you want to start editing template files, there’s nothing for you to edit in the back end of the site.

If that’s not suitable for your needs, you may want to try creating a static front page instead.
