Location of original files

    I need a help with locating original image files on my server. They take all the space I need and I need to delete them as optimized images are just fine.
    But I don’t know where to search for them.
    Most of images I optimized are in the folders like uploads/2018/10
    I understand that optimized version replace them just there, right?
    Where to search for backup files? Are they in the same folder with just a different name?
    Please help.

    Hi,

    Best practice is to remove a backup through the plugin’s settings page to also delete information about images in the database.

    However, the original images are stored in here:
    \wp-content\uploads\wio_backup,
    fully preserving the nesting and structure of the date catalogs.

    Also I have already deleted this folder before.
    Any advice how to delete information about images in database?
    Like any clearing database optimize wordpress plugin does it?
    I optimized around 2000 images with this plugin.
    The limited space usage on my hosting admin panel started showing a lot more used space after optimizing them. So I deleted this folder you mentioned, but it did not help – still my space usage remained the same. Is it becouse of that information in database?
    My space usage gets to the limits so I need to do something about it.
    I would appreciate yet some adive, please.
