[locations_map] don’t load since 6.6.4 update

oh yes, in case this matters:

– Events Manager is version 6.6.4.1
– WordPress is version 6.7.2
– Theme is Blocksy version 2.0.87
– Using Stackable version 3.14.2

thanks for looking into this. i just rolled EM forward to 6.4.4.1 and [locations_map] doesn’t work on https://padelfinder.de/ – you can now see from the outside: the loading animation starts and the switches to plan grey, rendering the site more or less unusable.

turning off ALL plugins except EM yields the same result: 6.6.3 – all good; 6.4.4.1 – no maps.

in EM settings, i have a Google API key and use embedded maps with a few lines of Google Maps Styles.

to my knowledge, the way i use [locations_map] is plain vanilla, straight out of the box. @joneiseman helped me build a few specific scripts to count the locations i have in the system, but they are completely separate from [locations_map] as they’re basically variations of [locations_list]:

@msykes – PS: i just switched my theme to Twenty Twenty-Five, Version: 1.1, yielding the same result: 6.6.3 – all good; 6.4.4.1 – no maps.

I found that the following works in the latest release:

[locations_map width=600 height=400]

Just [locations_map] worked in 6.6.3 but not in 6.6.4.1. While [locations_map width=600 height=400] works in both releases.

yes – same for me! thanks for finding this.

upside:
adding specific dimensions shows a map – so far, so good.

downside:
i have a completely fluid layout which relies on the standard width and height of 100% that i set in EM settings > formatting > maps.

maybe this is something that can be repaired in 6.4.4.2, @msykes ?

@joneiseman – also, the map only shows 10 locations unless i specifically set limit=999, which wasn’t necessary in 6.6.3…

I find it also works if you set the height=400 but don’t specify the width.

@ogelbrich @joneiseman thanks for confirming. I’m checking this out for next update, but note you can also have percents, like 100% to fill the whole width of the enclosing element.

I’m pretty sure the location limit ‘fixes’ a previous bug, but will investigate that too to make sure.

using [locations_map width=100% height=100% limit=999] works in 6.4.4.1, where [locations_map] did the job in 6.6.3 – i’ll update my shortcodes and be done.
