    Howdy guys,

    Totally possible. You could either modify the default query by tapping into pre_get_posts and checking the URL. Or it is likely much easier for you to setup an HTTP redirect using something like an .htaccess file to simple redirect /events/ to /events/2015-01-01/. Cheers!
