• Since yesterday, we are unable to get our site functioning properly. We had a white screen with an error code for every page. we couldnt log in to WP. We upgraded to php 7.0.

Then we could log in to WP and the site was visible again, until after clicking on say 3 pages then we got the Wordfence error 503 lock out notice. though we can still log in to WP.
we have updated the password and sent the email to unlock the site again and the same thing happens. We have no caching plug ins.

We have downgraded the brute force section to 10 attempts.
we can see several pages and then we get the error 503 again.
    ANy advice please ???

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @lynlynjo,

There might be something else that is causing Wordfence to block your connection.

Can you check Wordfence -> Tools -> Live Traffic? Find a blocked row, and expand it to see why Wordfence blocked that connection.

It might be caused by another plugin sending an AJAX request, and that request is seen as malicious.

    thanks

i found that it states its blocking my IP
I dont want to put all the details here in a public group

it says: blocked: Exceeded the maximum global requests per minute for crawlers or humans.

    Help!

    Hi again,

It seems that some of the rate limiting settings might be the issue.
Can you check under Wordfence -> All Options -> Rate Limiting?

    For example: https://i.imgur.com/WqxY26o.png

Please change If a human's page views exceed to a higher value.
Please change If a crawler's page views exceed to a higher value.
