Locked out: 2FA enabled for phone, but no phone number under user

I enabled 2FA thinking it would send me an email to sign in. I didn’t see any other options for config and so figured config would happen at log-in. At the time, I was busy setting up many backend items.
I went to log in today and got this message. “Dologin Security: DoLogin Security: No phone number under this user”. When I log-in the attempts don’t go down as well.
I shouldn’t have been able to enable 2FA authentication using a phone number without a phone number listed. I don’t have any other users on WP.
Any ideas on what can be done or am I screwed?
