Locked out due to too many log in attempts

  • I have been locked out of my site because someone has tried unsuccessfully to login with my user name too many times. I thought the offending IP or network was supposed to be locked out. In global settings my IP is whitelisted and ip’s and networks are permanently banned after too many attempts. So how can I avoid being locked out while under brute force attack.
