Locked out IP Address Session

    Hello there,

    Shield has been a great plugin but I enabled this lock IP Session last night and I can’t log back in with the following error:

    “Your session was locked to another IP Address.
    Please login again.”

    I thought they should release the session after overnight but still locked out.

    I feel pretty comfortable going to the DB so if you know what I can toggle in the DB, I can do that too. ??

    fixed by doing the forceoff method. thank you for that.

    would be good to know why it locked me out as I think it’s such a great feature. ??

    Hi,

    Glad to hear that you managed to sort it out.

    Whenever you get blocked/locked out as a result of Shield, you can use a forceoff method. This will keep Shield active allowing you to get back in and change the settings.

    Regarding “Lock To Location” option…

    When you enable this option, a session will be restricted to the same IP address as when you logged in. If your logged in IP address changes, the session will be invalidated and you’ll be forced to re-login. You’ll get a warning:

    “Your session was locked to another IP Address.
    Please login again.”

    So, if you want to use this option but not being logged out, ensure that your logged in IP address doesn’t change.
