    Hello.
Last night our neighborhood was affected by an electrical service failure. Thanks to that my router now has a new public IP. Now when I try to access my WP Desktop, I get the following error:

The webpage has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

    I have tried many solutions:
    Renaming the plugin folder
Uploading or creating a file named forceOff
Deleting the plugin folder and uploading a fresh copy of it.
Disabling all the plugins using the method described above.

I don’t use any other security plugins.

Dont know what else to do.
    Please help.

This is not an error generated by our plugin. Why do you believe it to be a Firewall error? It is an HTTP redirect/configuration issue by the looks of it.

If you delete our plugin, our plugin isn’t running. Errors generated while our plugin isn’t installed/running are not a result of our plugin.

Sorry Paul, but the problem WAS generated by your plugin.

It is an HTTP redirect/configuration issue by the looks of it.

Indeed it is. Your plugin has a feature that redirects (hides) /wp-admin.php to an error page or any other page. That′s what caused the problem.
And by the way, NONE of the “solutions” provided to disable your plugin and re gain access to your WP site will work. NONE.
You should provide a way, a method to re gain access to wordpress admin area THAT WORKS.

My site was working PERFECTLY. Other than random brute force attacks every once in a while, my site had no problems… AT ALL. Thats why I decided to install Simple Security Firewall.

So, your plugin was supposed to prevent a situation like this (a complete disaster), and ended causing it.
Had to restore my whole site from a previous backup.

Okay, I could argue with you, but you’re probably not going to listen.
    I’ll just state facts:

    – our security plugin never makes a change to any core WordPress files or .htaccess files, or any other file outside of the plugin directory.
    – our security plugin doesn’t change any WordPress settings except those that pertain directly to the plugin itself.
    – if you remove the plugin code files, or rename the plugin directory, which you said you did, then any possibility that our plugin could be impacting your site is also removed (unless you reinstall and reactivate the plugin).
    – when you use the “rename WP Login” feature, and you access the WP Admin area, our plugin does not use a redirect. It generates a 404 error page of its own making – i.e. no redirects in the context you outlined for wp admin.

    Thanks for trying the plugin.
