Log when Jobs are live/expired

Hi, I am looking for some add on functionality.

Our internal Job Board has the same 250 ish roles advertised that get turned on/off as needed. I am after some ideas on the best way to get a log created within each job on the back end to auto populate when it has been made live or manually expired in the past.

Perhaps a basic feature is already there that I am overlooking, or a better plugin may exist. Any and all feedback would be appreciated!
