Logged in to WP.org but forum says no username registered

I guess that’s the version, I installed it within the last 2 months. I have several blogs on WP.com and am now helping my cousin set up his website on WP.org. I created an account (with a longer password as required) for WP.org and have been signing in and editing for weeks.

I went to forums and it said “no such username or password” or whatever and asked me to register it. I did, and now I have an alpha numeric string as a password to I don’t know what as it’s been taking my login on the first sign-in screen for weeks now.

And that wasn’t even the problem I needed help with!

Not totally sure I understand the problem, but your user name and password for this site is not the same (and is totally unrelated) to a self-hosted www.ads-software.com site.
