• Since the last update, our users are unable to access the restricted pages. The site tells them they are logged in, but they can’t access the restricted page or see restricted menu items. They are also redirected to the register page afterwards. I tried rolling back to the previous versions, and it worked again, but we are unable to extend the memberships now.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Thank you for reporting this.

    1. Did the plugin get updated automatically or manually?
    2. If you go to the User Access -> Edit User Level screen for the level(s) in question, and then open the Members tab, can you see any users, or does it say there are no members?

Hi Joachim, I updated it manually. I have over 100 members registered. Some expired, but I cannot extend their membership. In essence, the settings remain the same as they were before the update. It is just the new update that created the issues. I had to rollback to the previous version to get it to work again. I had a client complaint about not being able to access the restricted content, and I tested it and couldn’t either. It shows you as “logged-in”, but acts as if you are not.

Same issue, members cannot access the associate content. Has been working for sometime. 200+ members with the correct access level.

I have exactly the same settings, except for the Restrict Access, as I reverted back to version 2.4.3. to get it working.

@ebud You can download the previous version here: https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/restrict-user-access.2.4.3.zip

Before doing so, would you be able to answer these questions:

    1. Did the plugin get updated automatically or manually?
    2. If you go to the User Access -> Edit User Level screen for the level(s) in question, and then open the Members tab, can you see any users, or does it say there are no members?
    3. If there are members, is their status Active or Expired?

    Thank you for the details.

Did memberships expire unexpectedly during the upgrade, and after rolling back they remain expired? What does the Expiration column say (e.g. future or past date)?

    (@maplearmor)

    Hi Joachim,

There are both, Active and Expired members. Some expired just a few weeks ago, other will expire soon or in a few months. Some expired prior to the update, but I wasn’t able to extend their membership. The latest update just doesn’t work at all. I will keep version 2.4.3 for the now, while you guys find a fix for the latest version. Thanks!

@intoxstudio in response to your questions:

    1. Did the plugin get updated automatically or manually? Manually
    2. If you go to the User Access -> Edit User Level screen for the level(s) in question, and then open the Members tab, can you see any users, or does it say there are no members? Members are there
    3. If there are members, is their status Active or Expired? Active as expected

I will roll back and report back if the issues is NOT resolved.

Thank you for all the details, this is very helpful.

I have found a conflict with WPML and Polylang in the latest version, can everyone in this thread confirm that you are using either of these plugins, or another multilingual plugin?

    Thread Starter Maple Armor Technologies

    (@maplearmor)

I use Polylang. Is this something that will be fixed in a future version? Should we avoid the latest version for the time being? Thanks!

Yes, we are using Polylang – is a fix in the works? We are currently running v2.4.3 and it works.

    (@intoxstudio)

Thank you for the responses. I have a working fix for both WPML and Polylang and it will be released soon.

Excellent! Will this be part of the next version?

    (@intoxstudio)

This has been fixed in version 2.6. If you continue to experience any problems, please open a thread again.

    It works, thanks!
