logging in with “admin” & “password” for first time?

so i finally installed everything correctly after staying up until 4 this morning and taking a 6 hour nap, and i have to get back to this?

i went through the simple couple steps of installing WP. after that they give you “admin” as the log in and then a password. i log in and the page goes to “page cannot be displayed.” i checked to see if it was my internet connection and its not that, and then i tried to see what happens if i put the wrong password in, and it tells me “incorrect password” so what is going on here? i’m typing the password correctly.. i’ve even tried using copy+paste to get it EXACTLY right… and all it does is show me “page cannot be displayed.” this is really frustrating and almost convinces me to just give up and forget about using wordpress! please someone help?
