Logging in with incorrect credentials bounces to /wp-login.php

Ever since I upgraded to WP 4.0, whenever I log in with wrong credentials, the page redirects to /wp-login.php. But it’s supposed to do an Ajax check instead. Seems like the form onSubmit event is not working, and so the form action URL is being hit instead.
