• I would like to know if there is a plugin, etc. that will log the IP address of users and tie them to their posts, etc just like myspace uses.

Your webserver already does that: get a copy of your access_log file.

Or you can use a service that logs client IPs, browser, referer, etc. I use https://getclicky.com/ which offers that and is free.

can you connect people to their actual posts that way? trying to remove liability for peoples posts by logging their ip address.

trying to remove liability for peoples posts by logging their ip address.

    Liability?

The log will show what URL the IP address visited and what the referrer URL was if any.

It won’t connect people, just show you the IP address. Most services will provide you some info such as what browser, country of origin etc.

The easiest way to see the reports is to sign up for Google Analytics, Get Clicky, or the service of your choice and just see what they offer.
