As at recent, before I login my WordPress site, my website works fine everywhere, but the moment I use the WordPress android app to login, my website goes offline everywhere. The WordPress android app does not load posts still; and, my website becomes unavailable/unreachable for about 10 minutes, then restores.

If I log in the WordPress android app to see my posts, my website goes totally offline again.

    How can I fix this?

  • The WordPress apps (both desktop and mobile) are actually Automattic/WordPress.com projects.

First, check to see if you’re running any of the plugins that are known to have issues with the apps: https://apps.wordpress.com/support/mobile/login-signup/known-plugin-conflicts/

If you’re not running any of these plugins, see the apps’ documentation for answers to common questions/problems, as well as contact information to get support for these apps: https://apps.wordpress.com/support/

    Good luck!

I have been able to resolve the issue myself.

I have always used a plugin “RENAME XMLRPC” because the xmlrpc of my server was not allowing me login via the WordPress android app. The plugin is used to rename my xml-rpc to “xmlrpc2.php”.

Meanwhile, another plugin “AIOWPS” created a new xml-rpc on the same public html folder in file manager yesterday when I updated it.

I noticed it this morning and then deleted the newly created xml-rpc, and left the renamed “xmlrpc2.php”. My website now works via the WordPress android app, and can now load posts.

THE PROBLEM was the two xml-rpc files co-existing in the same location, hence taking my website down whenever I requested to load posts via the WordPress android app.
