  • Over the last few days my users have had a problem logging in.

    wp-login.php seems to be redirecting to account, rather than the WordPress themed page that it used to go to (this seems to be intermittent).

    I’m getting Invalid username or password. Please try again! (even though the details are correct) which is causing the users to try resetting their password and the same thing happening.

    I’ve tried disabling the plugins that have been recently updated.

    I’ve tried LiteSpeed > Purge All.

    I’ve tried clearing all data in Chrome.

    I’ve tried uploading a brand new copy of wp-login.php.

    For one user I tried resetting the password from admin and that seemed to work, I didn’t even clear his cache?? I can reproduce the issue but resetting the password from admin didn’t work for me.

    Ahhh! I think I’ve worked it out.

    If you get the password wrong once it seems to cache that it needs to redirect to account rather than wp-login.php. A bug I assume? In LiteSpeed?
