Login amost always hangs on first attempt

    I have this plugin installed on a site that I’ve been working on, and for some reason, the login almost always hangs on the first attempt. By that, I mean that when I click on the login link in the main navigation menu, type in my login credentials and click on the “Sign In” button .. it just spins its wheels infinitely and doesn’t actually log me in. It’s only after I force a reload of the page do a re-attempt logging in does is work.

    Why is this happening? And what can I do to fix it?

    Note that I am running the latest version of WordPress (v5.5.3) on Apache, and that I currently do NOT have any caching plugins installed or activated.

    Hello,

    Some other plugin might be interfering with the login process.
    Deactivate all other plugins & test with a basic setup.
    Then re-activate one by one to know which plugin is causing the issue.

    Thanks for your response. What would be more helpful, I think, is if you could tell me of any specific plugins that are known to NOT be 100% compatible with yours. Do you have any such list that you could share with me, perhaps?

    Just to provide a bit more background info .. I’m encountering this problem on a staging environment .. which is only accessed by myself when I’m developing. It seems as though the problem occurs mostly after the site hasn’t been accessed in a while .. like first thing on a Monday morning, for example. Fairly consistently, the first login attempt always fails .. but then the 2nd attempt works fine (as well as successive attempts on that same day).

    I saw a while back that someone else in this support forum posted about the exact same problem .. though no one ever responded to his inquiry. Do you have any thoughts as to why this problem might be occurring, given the additional information that I’ve provided?

    There cannot be a list of incompatible plugins. WordPress is an open source platform.
    In short: Any plugin which takes control of login functionality might create compatibility issues.

    Have the same problem. While logging, getting
    Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 () /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php:1

    but after refresh second try goes well (as well as after loginout/login in)
