    a) Are the login and registration forms safe from string attacks?

    b) How may I limit the width of the text boxes for username and password?

    All form input is sanitized.

    How may I limit the width of the text boxes for username and password?

    Generally, CSS. There are several ways to approach that, and several answers. But the easiest is to use the WordPress Customizer.
