Login as root user??

  • Hi,
    I am completely new with all this IT stuff. And I am just following a tutorial where it says: You must be logged in your server as root user to perform the steps. Once logged in as root execute this command.
    # ps aux | grep httpd

    I just have no idea how to do this and where to open any command window. I am using WordPress and have Problems with it; therefore following this one tutorial/instruction.

    Are you using linux? What are you trying to accomplish?

    No I am using Windows. I guess I see the Problem to be solved with my host Provider.

    You posted this in “localhost installs” so it was natural to assume you want to host on your own PC. OK, most hosts offer a one-click installer for WordPress. Check with yours.
