login/authenticate to nothing but comment?

hi wordpressers,

I wonder if wordpress is capable, maybe with some help from a plugin, of allowing people to comment but only after some sort of authentication(usual social accounts?), but at the same time such a commentator type of “user” would not get to see, use the whole usual lot of WordPress, dashboard, etc?
