Login doesn’t “remember”

After upgrading, the login screen won’t “remember” me even though the box is ticked. I’ve searched for a solution to this, but found none, though many have the problem. I’ve cleared all passwords, cookies, etc from my browser (IE 7). Is there an answer somewhere that I’m not finding? Thanks for any help!
