• I recently upgraded my wordpress theme and now when I try to log into my dashboard, I get the Error 404, page cannot be found.

I tried the https://www.teresadavisblog.com/wp-login.php but still got the 404 error code.

    Here’s a link to my site https://teresadavisblog.com

I read on here about FTP but I have no idea where to find it or how to use it.

Can someone please tell me how to get into my dashboard and/or how to fix this problem?

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    esmi,

I appreciate your reply, but frankly I have no idea how to switch and where to switch from. I cannot get into the dashboard at all to switch anything.

As I said, I have no idea where to find the FTP. Is this a program I use or what?

Please try re-reading my post above. None of the suggestions made require you to login to your WordPress dashboard.
