• Hi guys,
just downloaded your plugin and so far I really like it. I ecountered one odd thing:
When I submit the login form with an empty password field there is no error. An error message is also missing when submitting neither an user or a password. I expected errors for both cases.
If an user but the wrong password is given an error message shows up which by its wording is intended to cover the first case described above. I guess simply the if clause for this message is missing an “empty()” check.

Would be awesome to see a fix!
    Best regards

Hi, can you carry out the following troubleshooting steps test-for-plugin-and-theme-conflict-before-posting-an-issue-or-a-bug. Let me know how you go.

    Thank you

Already done that. Used only your plugin and twenty-twenty. The behaviour still persists. You can easily test it by visiting the membership-login-page and hitting the submit button. In my case the page reloads and no error is displayed. Same scenario if you solely enter an username.

Hi, can you share your membership login page?

    Thank you

Currently, it’s an offline build version but I will upload it later to a test server. How can I share the login credentials for the server with you?

    Hi,

Currently, it’s an offline build version but I will upload it later to a test server.

I suspect that your error might be coming from your offline server. This tends to happens quite often with local installations. Are you using Xampp or Mamp?

How can I share the login credentials for the server with you?

I don’t need the login credentials. All I need is the URL of the login page form, so that I can test to see if I run into the same issue as you.

    Thank you

You can’t and should not ever offer that to anyone. Any plugin support person who accepted that would risk losing their plugin on this site. It’s that serious.

I did not know that it could be due to Xampp. I will reach out to you if uploading the website fixes the error. Thanks for your help so far!

Regarding the login credentials: I’m aware that I shouldn’t share these ?? I meant the temporary .htaccess/.htpasswd login credentials as you need them in order to access the frontend (the uploaded website would still be in the staging phase). Sorry for expressing it in a misleading way.

Ok, got some bad news. I uploaded the page (fresh install) and the error is still there. Now, we enter the scenario that I will have to tell you the .htaccess/.htpasswd credentials ??
Can I send you a mail? I really don’t want the site to be accessible by the general public right now.

Send you the URL and the necessary details by e-mail. Found the contact on the linked website from your user profile. I hope you are fine with that!
A working testuser on the website is deleted.

    Yeah. No. Not even that.

I want to be clear: if someone accepts temporary credentials, test site credentials, read only credentials on these forums then they risk getting banned from this site. If it’s a plugin author or plugin support they also risk losing their hosting of their plugin on this site.

Again, it is that serious. Don’t offer any access at all. It could get someone into real trouble.

@mbrsolution As soon as you read this, and do not prevaricate, confirm that you accessed the users site.

@jdembowski, thank you and don’t worry I have a policy not to log into peoples site to help out. There is always something that can go wrong.

I always submit a message to the developers to investigate further the issue.

    Thank you kindly
