    What I’m trying to do is have a password protected AREA within the site, that would be accessed via a login form (with a simple universal login)on an interior page, THEN be redirected to the page with the information they wish to access. It’s for an exchange club, so membership roster, etc.

    yes, you can try to make a page or post with login using the Publish metabox when creating a page or post then choose private
