login issue

  • I just installed wordpress on my site (hosted / registered at dreamhost), and was able to run the install. When I try to login (for the first time), I get the following. However, I see ./wp-blog-header.php in my directory. Any ideas?

    Warning: require(./wp-blog-header.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/royd10/www.westchesterdaddy.com/wp-admin/index.php on line 17

    Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘./wp-blog-header.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/royd10/www.westchesterdaddy.com/wp-admin/index.php on line 17

  • You may be running into the same problem I did yesterday. WP e-mailed me a user name “admin” and password, but they did not work. After a lost day, someone at Go Daddy (my host) suggested that I use the admin name and password that I had created during the process, and instead of just directly to the address, go to (in your case) https://www.westchesterdaddy.com/wp-admin

    Since you’re on a different host, it may not work the same, but I hope this can save you the frustration I had.
