LOGIN / LOGOUT

Hi – can someone here help me or point me to a code/plugin that will change the LOGIN display link to DASHBOARD when someone is logegd in already. Right now, when a new user signs up for my site, he comes back to the homepage, but the link still says LOGIN, even though he is already logged in. I would like it to say DASHBOARD and LOGOUT instead.
