login page doesnt show up when i go to mywebsite.com/wp-admin

  • I am a newbie on website thinggy and trying to set up one. I have trouble getting to the wordpress log in page. I have installed wordpress on my hosting successfully but yet I cant get to the wordpress log in menu on luwung.co/wp-admin. I kept getting the Godaddy’s parked ads https://luwung.co/?nr=1
    Would really appreciate if anyone can help me solve this problem.

  • Is your hosting with GoDaddy, or just your domain name?

    If you are hosting with GoDaddy, there will be another index file in the main directory, most likely index.htm but it could be something else. Remove it – but leave the index.php file there.

    If you are not hosting with GoDaddy, then you need to set the nameserver records of your domain name to point to your hosting accounts web server. You should have gotten nameserver details when you signed up for your hosting accout but if you didn’t then ask your hosting company for them and they’ll help you out.

    Yes, im both my domain and hosting is from GoDaddy. Sorry im such a newbie here. How do i go to the main directory? Please help. Thanks

    You will need to use FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Your hosts should be able to help with this.

    I would recommend contacting the GoDaddy support team. You should not be seeing this page if the domain and WordPress is setup via their panel. Even if there was an index.htm(l) file, I doubt it would read “Activate Your Domains”.
