Firstly, thanks in advance for any support!

Three weeks ago our UK2.net server crashed that runs our site https://www.fndponyclub.org.uk.
Eventually the data was restored with the last two weeks data missing. Data aside we are left with login redirecting to a random post. I tried deleting the random post (it redirects to the same post every time, it is just randomly chosen) to no avail as it chose another apparently random post.
If you try to register the same redirect occurs.
I tried replacing the login widget with the basic <Meta:Login> to no avail.
However, if you goto https://www.fndponyclub.org.uk/wp-login.php all works well and login can proceed and indeed one can register as a new user, and provided the wp-login page is used.
That is clearly not the route we need on this site.
UK2 have washed their hands of the case even though it was working perfectly before the last data restoration and I have been searching for solutions.
I am guessing it is database corruption but how to locate and rectify is another matter.
    Does anyone have any clues?
    Thanks all!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting via Settings -> Permalinks. If this works, then review Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

Esmi …. you are a star! Deactivating all plugins did the job. Still not sure which was the offender as I have stopped reactivating when the site regained all the functionality the readers required.

All other plugins essentially for administrators benefits, I have left deactivated and will probably after more thought even delete!

    Thanks again!

    Glad I could help ??
