• I was wondering is there anyway that when the user logs into on the homepage they would be redirected back to the homepage instead of being taken to the profile page?

  • You should find a couple of plugins dealing with this issue but I couldn’t name them on the spot (but you find them if you google for it).

On the other hand you could make a hack in one of the WP files. Disadvantage of this method…every time you update your WP install you need to reperform the hack…and I couldn’t tell you either which file to edit.

If they don’t have anything to do in the admin interface… WHY should they login? Any logical reason for it?

to post comments, I use the option where users must be logged into comment. As its a fan site I send newsletters out so keeping a database of email addresses.

When visitors register to your site they do NOT agree to receive unwanted email messages. Putting those email adresses in your newsletter list – is illegal in most countries because it is considered spam (a.k.a. unwanted email).
And as far as I know WP doesn’t have an opt-in feature to manage mailing lists.

If you use sidebar widgets, you might find this login widget handy for that sort of thing:

moshu I think your jumping the gun abit here and having a go at me without even looking at my site and for a moderator i would expect different.

I have not sent out any emails as the site is still under development and i will be making sure all my users know that newsletters are sent out.

i’d appreciate it if you didnt accuse me of being a spammer without proof.
