    Hi,

I have been unable to login to my admin panel and I have no idea what is causing the problem. It seems to have happened all of a sudden.

I am unable to bring up the login page with my special login URL which I created in the “hide backend” feature of iThemes. I have tried using wp-admin but it takes me to a redirect loop. My website comes up fine though.

I have read up on fixing it and have tried the following:
    – Disabling the iThemes plugin
    – Disabling the Theme My Login plugin

Neither have worked. I have also tried disabling my Child theme but this only brings up a blank website home page.

I do have access to my site’s FTP and database via phpMyAdmin so I can make whatever changes I need to to get this fixed. Unfortunately, I am unable to get the version number of the plugin from FTP, it does say 4.6.2 which isn’t on the list – which I assume is Better WP Security’s version number.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Pam.

If deactivating the iTSec plugin does not allow you to access the WP Dashboard login screen while using the default WP login slugs (wp-admin, admin, dashboard, login, wp-login.php) then this is not an iTSec plugin issue.

If the content of the wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security/better-wp-security.php file reports version 4.6.2 then you are using a very old iTSec plugin release. There have been 15 new releases since …

Assuming you are running the latest WP 4.4.2 release I strongly recommend to update to the iTSec plugin 5.1.1 release as soon as you are able to login again.

Note there are 2 newer releases, 5.2.0 and 5.2.1, but as these introduced many new bugs as well as removed the Security Status feature from the iTSec plugin Dashboard page it’s better to stick to the 5.1.1 release for now.

    Hi dwinden,

I managed to login via the frontend login page although I know this is not ideal. I then checked the iThemes “hide backend” feature and noticed it was turned off – not sure how or why that happened.

It does seem like this is not an iThemes issue. I will have to find another thread to help fix this issue.

    Thanks for your help.
