Login redirects based on referer

Normal redirects have worked fine in all my tests before, so this may just be caused by something weird that the other plugin is doing.

To be sure, though, can you post the URLs from each step of the process? Here’s what the process should look like:

1) https://example.org/normal-url
(then user clicks on link to login)
2) https://example.org/wp-login.php?redirect_to=https://example.org/normal-url
(then user enters username/password)
3) https://example.org/?action=gapup_token&user_id=X&gapup_login_nonce=[redact_this]&redirect_to=https://example.org/normal-url
(then user inputs 2FA token)
4) https://example.org/normal-url

Make sure you redact the value of the gapup_login_nonce parameter, like in step 3 above, since that’s a sensitive security token that you shouldn’t share publicly.

For some reason, the redirect URL always is populated with index.php

It probably is a weird interaction with another plugin I have installed. It only is reproducible when I have per user enabled. I will I will keep that enabled and attempt to disable other plugins until I find the cause.

It ended up being caused by my login link incorrectly passing on the referrer field. For some reason the field would get lost when I would enter my authentication code.

I have changed the method used for passing on the referrer field from my login links. I can no longer reproduce the problem. Thanks for your help. You definitely got me thinking on the right track for how to solve this problem.
