Login “Request Rejected” – Not Able To Login To Control Panel

    Hello,

    I tried to login today to the website and the control panel section stopped working.

    It says “Request Rejected” and the message below.

    “The requested URL was rejected. If you think this is an error, please contact the webmaster.

    Your support ID is: 9641638102858157333”

    The main website still works fine.

    Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

    I logged in via FTP and renamed the plugins folder and that did not work. I changed the theme folder and it did not default to the Twenty 15 or 16 template. I downloaded the latest version of wordpress and overwrite the files in the wp-admin folder. I then over wrote the wp files in the root folder. None of these method allowed the login to the wp-admin folder.

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Some hosting providers reject http / https in the URL parameters.

    You get that error because /wp-admin redirects to https://www.creeksidemarket.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.creeksidemarket.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

    I’m having the same issue. I have done a manual reinstall. Site still works fine, but trying to access the dashboard (by either method) results in the “The requested URL was rejected. If you think this is an error, please contact the webmaster.” error.

    I’ve replaced the theme from stock, and the error remains. I’ve checked the permissions on all the files, I’ve double-checked the settings in my wp-config file. I’ve even tried removing and re-adding my plug-in folders individually (can’t enable/disable as I can’t reach the dashboard) to see if one of them breaks the site. Even with no plugins installed, the dashboard access issue remains.

    I appreciate any suggestions anyone could provide!

    Can you post a screenshot of the error you’re seeing? Make sure the URL is shown in the screenshot.

    Huh. Just went back to the site this morning and it logs in properly. o_O?

    Hello,

    It seems to be fixed now. I guess that the webhost changed the server settings. It is an older server that does not do ssl.

    When I tried to login using: …./wp-login.php it worked. That seems to be the solution is to type the login php file directly and login that way.
