I am unable to access the Login Security page in the Dashboard. When I go to it, it displays, but everything is greyed out and I cannot access any settings. I have tried turning off all other plugins and using a WordPress theme, but that did not solve it. I have tried deleting the plugin and reinstalling it, but that did not solve it.

I am seeing the following in the browser console:

load-scripts.php?c=0&load%5Bchunk_0%5D=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,jquery-ui-core,jquery-ui-menu,jquery-ui-tooltip&ver=6.3.2:2 Uncaught TypeError: element.pointer is not a function

    Please advise.

Hello @wildlife77, Thanks for reaching out and sharing the troubleshooting steps you have taken so far.

To rule out any caching issues, could you please try an incognito/private browsing window or a different browser than your default one?

If the above doesn’t make a difference, please send us a diagnostic to [email protected]. You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    Thanks,

    Mark.

I opened it in a different browser and it’s doing the same thing there.

So I’m sending the diagnostic to you now. It said Wordfence was working and it was spinning and then it said:

    Error

There was an error while sending the email.

I expanded all the Diagnostics and I’m seeing this:

Wordfence Login Security (wordfence-login-security)?– Version 1.1.6Inactive

I activated that plugin and that had no impact. I’m not even remembering why I have that in there. I think it was something I found that I thought I’d try that might work, but it didn’t. So I’ve deactivated that plugin again now.

I’m thinking what’s happening here is one of your popup tooltips is failing to display.

I have now fixed the problem with e-mail and sent the diagnostic successfully.

Note that it is possible that you did not receive the diagnostic. I’m seeing an additional problem with the e-mail plugin we’re using that might make it to where you did not receive the e-mail sent. Let me know if there is another way I can get you the diagnostic.

    Did you receive the diagnostic?

Hi @wildlife77, thanks for providing your diagnostic.

From your diagnostics, you are missing the wfls_2fa_secrets, wfls_settings tables. Just for my reference to have the full background of things you’ve tried, when manually removing, did you follow the instructions at: https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/remove-or-reset/?

You could also select “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation” from the plugin’s All Options page, deactivate the plugin and re-activate to see if the tables are created successfully when doing it this way.

If that fails, It would be a good idea to try Wordfence Assistant to remove all tables & data rather than the manual removal as that has worked for customers with similar issues in the past.

    Thanks again,

    Mark.

I just tried it again. I completely deleted Wordfence fromt he site and deleted all tables and data on deactivation.

I then reinstalled the plugin and it is still doing the same thing. So now I’m trying Wordfence Assistant. I’ve installed that and had it delete everything after I deactivated Wordfence again. I then reactivated Wordfence and it is still doing the same thing.

    What’s next to try?

    Just checking in again.

I have figured out the problem here. Our MySQL software on our VPS server was in need of update. After I did that, I deleted Wordfence entirely and then reinstalled it. It is working as it should now.
