One site I’m working with was getting hammered by brute force attempts. Valid people couldn’t log in because there had been too many attempts by hackers on their accounts. Ever.
So I turned off the Security Lock-out feature in BPS, relying on long random passwords.
    Thus:

    • Set: “Turn On|Turn Off: Turn Off Login Security”.
    • Click: “Save Options”.

Except now it still says “Turn Off Login Security” in the pull down.
As a toggle, shouldn’t it prompt you to do the opposite?
Could this be better managed under a different UI?
Or maybe one option could say “Login security ON” and the other, “Login Security OFF”.
    ???
Because this is confusing. It looks like it’s telling me that it’s on and that I have the option of turning it off. Yet I just turned it off…

The drop down select form option reflects the current DB option value for that form option, which is Login Security is turned Off in this case, but you have good point since the wording makes it sound like an action is required. ie do X instead of X is already done. I have scheduled a task to look into changing the naming convention of that Login Security form option.

For user accounts being repeatedly locked out see this forum topic for additional things you can do to prevent that: https://forum.ait-pro.com/forums/topic/user-account-locked/#post-12634
