Login service to WordPress Non-functional with v4.7

  • Mid-last week I upgraded to v4.7. Since then I can no longer login (a) using my custom plugin for Shibboleth Authentication and (b) cannot reset the password via “Lost Password” link.

    Aside from the ShibAuth issue, I just removed every plugin from one of the sites in my Multisite network. I then tried over and over to reset my password via the “Lost your password?” link. I keep cycling through this error message every time I click the link in the Password Reset email:

    Please enter your username or email address. You will receive a link to create a new password via email.
    Your password reset link appears to be invalid. Please request a new link below.

    Is anyone else having login issues with the latest v4.7 version of WP?

    Work around note: you cannot reset your password from a site within Multisite. You can only reset your password from the core install site (Site ID: 1).

    Wondering…why is that?
