Currently running WP 4.3.1 with WP Sec 4.0.1

I have Login Whitelist enabled with only 3 IPs listed, and periodically I am getting lockout notices from various IPs that are nowhere near the range of the whitelisted IPs.

This feature worked perfect when I had WordPress 4.2 & WP Sec 3.9.6 running together. As a possible solution I have now enabled the Blacklist Manager feature and added the offending IP’s to that list. I do not need support, just thought you should know that this feature isn’t working quite the way it used to.

Those lockout notices might not be from the login page attempts but instead from the xml-rpc file. Try enabling the pingback protection and that should stop those.

Thank you for your response, I enabled the Ping Back Protection.

The lockout attempts are using various fictional usernames like, “admin”, “user”, etc. So I tend to think they are failed login page attempts, but I could be wrong.

    Thanks again!
