Login Whitelist not blocking hacker IP address

I finally got fed up with hacker attacks and turned on the Whitelist feature last night. There’s only ONE IP address in the whitelist: mine.
Woke up this morning and was shocked to see this attack from an IP that’s nothing like mine:
A lockdown event has occurred due to too many failed login attempts or invalid username:
Username:
IP Address: 182.92.194.175IP Range: 182.92.194.*
Log into your site’s WordPress administration panel to see the duration of the lockout or to unlock the user.
Apparently this feature is currently broken. Devs, pls contact me directly for screenshots.
P.S. I am still lobbying you guys for a feature that would autoblacklist any IP that tries to login with banned usernames (like “admin”). Please please PLEASE… ??
